Together we can create a world without extreme poverty, one happy village at a time.
It’s much easier to create change when you focus your attention, so we operate at village level. We really get to know the communities, and they really get to know us.
To achieve a world without extreme poverty by using existing community structures to assist the poorest in the community in an honest and accountable manner.
Sustainability is paramount, in our methods and resources, but also in assisting the Lieta community without creating a situation of dependency on foreign aid.

Happy Villages has installed rain water harvesting tanks and taught broad scale earthwork techniques to mitigate flood damage for a village of over 7,000 residents, as well as trained over 300 community members, teachers, and primary school students on Permaculture focusing on Food Security, the Environment and Reforestation.
The proposed library project will benefit the entire community. However, the first target population are the 10 schools we partner with in Lieta sublocation and those from the neighbouring communities, their teachers, the village committees working in Health, Education, water and sanitation, Agriculture and Environment.
Happy Villages, along with the State Department of Agriculture Development in collaboration with Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) and GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) has been implementing a curriculum development project in Horticulture at different levels.
We work in one small geographical area at a time and aim to significantly improve the quality of life of the people that live there. Currently we are working in the village of Lieta in South Uyoma Location in Kenya.
"The strategy Happy Villages has is unique because it is sustainable and puts the needs of the community first. I believe the Lieta Community will continue to experience beneficial outcomes, long after Happy Villages is gone, because of the foundation Happy Villages has helped build."
"I trust that when I donate to Happy Villages the money is going to those who need it"
